Backworth Male Voice Choir

Backworth Male Voice Choir is a friendly choir and prospective members will be made most welcome. Invitations are offered to men wishing to join this group for harmonious leisure and pleasure and information can be had from the Secretary, Les Allan on 0191 252 9489 or from Andy Rutherford on 0191 253 0612.
The usual procedure is to enjoy a “sit in” at rehearsals for a few weeks and then take a voice test with our musical director and a committee member, not an onerous task.
After a further probationary period and confirmation of membership, the new member will receive the choir’s notable “Blue Jacket and Bow Tie”.
The choir have recently introduced “tutorial CD’s” for all members which include a range of standard musical arrangements that can be rehearsed at home. The general aim is to make more efficient use of rehearsal nights and allow more time for learning new items. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday evening during school term time at Cullercoats Primary School in Marden Avenue from 7.30 to 9.30pm.
